A Colorado sex offender challenged having to take a polygraph test as part of his supervised release from prison. His argument was that it violated his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. The 10th Circuit U. S. Court of Appeals agreed and ruled that he does not have to take a polygraph test. While this ruling does not reflect a change in law, it could have nationwide impact.
