Georgia currently requires level 3 sex offenders to wear an ankle monitor for life. However, there is no punishment if they do no do so–because of this, Justice Nahmias of the Georgia Supreme Court has called the regulation “useless.” It is being challenged for being unconstitutional as a form of punishment after a sentence has been served.
