In April, 2016, Sheriff Roger Marcoux Jr. of Lamoille, Vermont hired Timothy Szad to help renovate a building owned by the Sheriff’s office. Szad had just been released from prison after serving a 13 year sentence for a sex charge. Marcoux’s goal was to keep track of Szad. Several months have passed and both men have benefited from this relationship. Szad is flourishing and seeing this has changed Marcoux’s outlook–he is now excited to work on programs to help felons reintegrate.
