A Utah state audit shows there is a massive backlog in Utah’s prison’s sex offender treatment program. Inmates are being left waiting for months while they should be eligible for parole. One suggested solution is allowing low-risk offenders to get treatment post-release.

The treatment itself is criticized as dated and treats all different offenders similarly.
